Dr Kirsty Robertson - Veterinarian
Kirsty was born and raised in Alice Springs before moving to Townsville to complete her veterinary degree at James Cook University, graduating 2017. Having known she always wanted to be a vet, Kirsty began her career as a kennel hand after school and progressed to nursing in her gap year before making the big move to the tropics.
Kirsty joined the MyVet team in January after relocating with her best friend, her labrador x cattle dog, Charlie. They both love the NSW coast and have been enjoying walks along the beach together. Kirsty is passionate about animal welfare, having volunteered for a foster and rehoming organisation during her degree. She also has a special interest in surgery as well as dermatology and is looking forward to meeting all of our lovely clients.
Janine - Practice Manager
Janine has been the Practice Manager here at MyVet Twin Towns since 2014. She has been a Veterinary Nurse for 14 years and has worked in both emergency and general practice. She is originally from Auckland, New Zealand, and moved to Australia with her furbaby (and very spoilt only child) Rocky almost 4 years ago and loves the warmer weather.
Janine has always loved animals and is also passionate about the environment (she completed a Bachelor Degree and A Post-Graduate Diploma in Environmental Science before coming back to her first love, Veterinary Nursing). Janine has a special interest in orthopaedic and critical care nursing. She is also passionate about providing "best-practice" care for the patients at MyVet Tweed Heads, and loves learning.
If you haven't met Janine already, she would love to meet you and your furry family members. If you have already met her, come and say hello anyway!
Florencia – Veterinary Nurse
Florencia was born in Sweden. When she was 7 years old she moved with her family to Atlántida, a beach town in the east coast of Uruguay, South America. She attended the Vet school in Uruguay and graduated as a Veterinary Doctor in 2012. Flo has worked in general practice as a Vet for 3 years in Uruguay prior to coming to Australia, where she is required to do further study to have her degree recognised.
When she arrived in Australia in 2015, Flo worked as a Veterinary Nurse in a small animal practice in Melbourne before moving to the Northern Rivers, NSW where she started volunteering at Currumbin Wildlife Hospital. She finds that being able to be in contact with the Australian Wildlife is amazing!
In her role at MyVet Twin Towns Flo is excited to apply her knowledge for the well-being of all animals while working as a Veterinary Nurse. She has a special interest in surgery and anaesthetics but above all it is her love of working with animals that motivates her to work in the veterinary field each day.
